Sustainable aviation in the Dutch Caribbean: More than a dream?

Fourteen flights a day and more than 150,000 passengers a year. In few words, that’s the challenge faced by sustainable and electric aviation in the Dutch Caribbean. What would electric flights between Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao look like? How would it work? And what about the charging of the planes?

We have written about electric aviation and the wish for more sustainable air transport in the region on several occasions before, mainly thanks to the potential of these sectors for smaller, more isolated regions like the islands in the Dutch Caribbean. Today, we are building on those topics and that content with a brand-new podcast by strategic advisor and sustainability expert Geert Kloppenburg. For the fourth episode of the podcast series “Duurzaam Vliegen” (Sustainable Flying), he invited Felix Greving, local electric flight pioneer, Crisis Coordinator at Bonaire-based healthcare institute Fundashon Mariadal, and member of Circulair Water Bonaire (Circular Water Bonaire). And as cherry on top of the cake, Felix is also a Future Guide at Future Islands!

Give episode 4 of the Duurzaam Vliegen podcast with Felix a listen here.

You can also subscribe to the podcast for free on iTunes and Spotify.

Also don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions or comments for Felix or Future Islands!
