Thanks to an initiative by Amsterdam-based specialized recruitment firm crmLiNK, an online platform focused on top professional talent from the Dutch Caribbean will be launched soon. Under the name “Caribbean Boardroom”, local and international businesses can use the platform to get in touch with talent for high-level executive positions, such as directors, board members and top management. The launch of the Caribbean Boardroom is planned for April 6th, 2022, during crmLiNK’s “Beyond Good Corporate Governance” seminar in Sint Maarten.

The seminar

Thanks to its history and its team, crmLiNK has a special connection to the Caribbean Netherlands and because of that, the company organized several events and courses about good corporate governance in the region over the past years. Their upcoming “Beyond Good Corporate Governance” seminar is basically a continuation of those efforts and initiatives. The goal of the seminar and indeed of the brand-new Caribbean Boardroom platform is, as crmLiNK puts it themselves on their website, “to encourage the education and professionalization of senior management and supervisory boards on Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, the islands of the Caribbean Netherlands, and in Suriname”.

The seminar will be held between 13:30 and 20:00 at the Simpson Bay Resort in Sint Maarten and will feature various speakers, including Connie Tanis of  Connie Tanis Consultancy and co-founder of the Navona Institute about “The importance of self-assessment of the Supervisory Board”, and poverty and inclusion expert Dr. Jurenne Hooi about “Managing conflict of interest”. Participation fees for the whole day vary between $495 and $570 per person, and registration for the seminar must be completed before April 1st, 2022. You can find the online registration form here in case you are interested to know more and possibly participate in the seminar.

The Caribbean Boardroom

During the “Beyond Good Corporate Seminar”, the local launch of the new Caribbean Boardroom platform will take place as well. This purpose of this online database is to be filled with professional talent from the Caribbean Netherlands who have the ambition to act at top levels of companies, organizations, and institutes, both private and public. The platform will be run on a non-profit basis, meaning that all income will be used to improve the platform and to keep it running smoothly. As a result, fees for companies interested in accessing the database will be minimal.

As far as the candidates go, they do need to provide extensive information and fulfill a few requirements in order to be included in the database, including information to complete their professional profiles and their qualifications. This will support the Caribbean Boardroom’s own ambition of expanding and improving the pool of local boardroom talent from the Caribbean Netherlands.
